League girds for “demonic presence”

DEADWIND PASS — League members survived fusillades of flame and volleys of ice Sunday to end the final torment of Nielas Aran, sire of Tirisfal’s last Guardian.

By overcoming the undead mage’s eldritch strength after a frenetic struggle in tight quarters, the League stands poised to discover the current master of Karazhan, a “demonic presence” Kirin Tor scryers suspect was drawn to the tower’s confluence of ley lines.

“Defeating Aran brings us within reach of reclaiming this center of power for the Alliance,” Archmage Alturus said of the League’s victory in a /tell Monday morning. “But basically, they’re totally screwed now. I mean, really. They’re so dead.”

League representatives said they planned to return to Karazhan as early as today, bringing twice the strength of arms.

They hope to push further up the spire this week, according to Paladin Gyson, and at the very least, be able to again “gather around the corpse of an old man we killed.”
